Question Time With Rompz

1) What inspired you to get involved with DJing?

Being apart of the music industry simply just comes down to what it has done for me over my life - Through every experience I’ve had in my life good or bad music has healed and helped me in ways most things could not and that is definitely the roots of my passion and motivations for why I began to DJ and why I’ll push myself to keep learning and meeting new incredibly talented people while I make my own path to the top.

2) What artists do you look up to for influence and inspiration?

The people that push the bar higher with this music, the ones that have grown the community into what it has become now. legends like Hedex and Shy FX , camo and crooked - Mefjus, aswell as so many others with incredible stage presence and energy that creates a love and sense of community shown across the board, that alone is something that I always aspire to achieve and help continue on a legacy that so many greats have built over the last few decades.

3) What artists from the underground DnB scene have caught your eye?

So many talented artists coming onto the scene like rxnouk - jaybeeuk - KRITIKAL - Don Darkoe - insane talent across the board, The scene is exploding right now in ways it never has before and I couldn’t be more gassed to see so many others making music to inspire a new generation of ravers.

4) If you could collab with any musician of any genre, who would you choose and why?

Camo and Krooked  without a doubt - having incredible knowledge of sound production aswell as an understanding of human connection and what it takes to bring the listener on a journey through there music as opposed to just to sticking with something mainstream just because it works.

5) What are your top 5 non DnB tunes?

Caress Your Soul - Sticky Fingers

Psychotics - Bootleg Rascal

Voices in my head - Ocean Wisdom

Control - The Four Owls

Meditate - EarthGang / JiD

6) If music was not your passion, what do you think you would be pursuing instead?

I think I would just be stuck living the same life that I have been working so hard to improve on, A simple life on the tools working different trades trying to make ends meet just like every other hard working bloke here in Australia. It’s difficult to think of anything else I could possibly want more than playing the music I love on festival stages and nightclubs.
